I managed back-to-back victories in the open division scoring a perfect 10 in the final, defeating Paul Parkes Mitch Noonan and Duncan McNicol.
I then went on to win the over 28s final defeating Parkes, Dylan Johnson and Christian Hibbard.
Ryan Callinan won the 18s final; Jake Sylvester won the under 16s final; Phillipa Anderson won the women’s final and Merewether’s Jackson Baker won the under 14s final.
In the masters Glen Sharrock won the over 50s; Glen Valaire won the over 40s and Scott Myers won the over 35s.
The Brothers Neilson Pro Junior starts this week on the Gold Coast.
Newcastle will be represented again by Merewether surfers Wes Bainbridge, Ryan Callinan, Duncan McNicol and Jesse Adams and Catherine Hill Bay’s Sam Lendrum.
Merewether surfer Craig Anderson will be out of the water for up to six months due to a serious leg injury.
The injury happened in Western Australia earlier in the month when he did an aerial manoeuvre. Anderson is in his last year in the Pro Junior series.
Paige Haggerston and Phippa Anderson will compete in the junior girls.
