Many tournaments and events were cancelled.

However, Rod Rosenfield, from the Gosford Tennis Centre worked tirelessly to stage his ANZAC open and junior tournament.

Starting April 21, the first two days of the junior section were washed out.

The Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre touring team was a dominant force in many of the junior events.

Sarah Palombini won the 15 and under girls’ singles, Blake Denison was runner up in 15 and under boys’ singles and Sam Roffey was leading in the 13 and under boys’ singles final when once again rain intervened.

Many other events were washed out.

Rod has his fingers crossed for the open section starting on ANZAC day.

An outstanding number of 335 individual entries have been taken for the three-day event.

With more than $4500 in prize money, the men’s open singles has 158 entrants.

Sixty seven women entered the open ladies singles with Daniel Scivetti, ranked 50 in Australia the number one seed.
